Ganga Expressway News Marathi : Ganga Expressway was inaugurated on 29 April 2026. Initially, passengers were given free travel for a few days, which has now ended. Now passengers on this 594 km long expressway between Meerut and Prayagraj Toll Tax has to be paid. This tax will be based on the type of vehicle and the distance covered.
Rules of Toll Tax
A closed toll system is in force on the Ganga Expressway. This means that toll tax will be charged only for the distance covered. All payments will be made through FASTag, allowing vehicles to pass without stopping. Let us understand the various vehicle rates charged by UPEIDA.

Who will be charged what toll?
Toll charges for light vehicles such as cars, jeeps and vans are ₹2.55 per km; ₹1.28 per km for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and tractors; ₹4.05 per km for light commercial vehicles and minibuses; ₹8.20 per km for heavy vehicles like buses and trucks; ₹12.60 per km for multi-axle vehicles and heavy machinery. Additionally, vehicles with seven or more axles will be charged ₹16.10 per km.
How will the toll be collected on the expressway?
MLFF technology has been used at toll plazas on Ganga Expressway. This enables toll collection without any hurdles. With this system, vehicles do not need to stop or slow down to pay the toll. The system reads the FASTag and registration number of the vehicle while it is in motion and automatically deducts the toll amount. Although the toll is paid manually (by hand) at the expressway exit points, the authorities are working on a free-flow system soon.
Which cities does this route connect to?
The Ganga Expressway passes through 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh: Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. The entire route is divided into 12 different sections, each approximately 49 to 53 km in length.
