Gasoline prices edge up – VnExpress International

Gasoline and diesel prices in Vietnam rose Thursday afternoon, following hikes in fuel prices on global markets.

The popular fuel E10 RON95 went up 2.06% from a week ago to VND25,730 (US$1.00) per liter.

E5 RON92 added 2.60% to VND26,020. Diesel increased by 2.34% to VND30,240.

The global oil market, over the past seven days, was affected by Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil and gas facilities, a decline in U.S. crude inventories and increased diesel production at Russian refineries, according to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

RON 92 gasoline climbed 4.68% to $138.60 a barrel, while diesel rose 2.71% to $172.60 a barrel.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang has tasked government bodies with reviewing the legal basis and feasibility of reducing the special consumption tax on gasoline to zero from Nov. 1 through March 31, 2027.

Under the Special Consumption Tax Law, which took effect on July 1, the tax rate is 10% for regular gasoline, 8% for E5 gasoline and 7% for E10. The tax on gasoline had previously been reduced to 0% from late March through the end of June 2026 to help stabilize the market.
