Prices of gasoline went up in Vietnam on Thursday while those of diesel declined.
The popular fuel RON95 increased by 2.96% from a week ago to VND23,270 (US$0.89) per liter.
E5 RON92 gained 3.31% to VND22,480. Diesel dropped 1.21% to VND27,740.
The global petroleum market in recent days has been affected by developments related to the conflict between the U.S. and Iran, as well as the continued disruption of oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.
The price of each barrel of RON 95 rose 4% to $121, while that of diesel fell 1.1% to $154.70.

According to the ministries, following the adjustment, gasoline prices in Vietnam remained 18%-97% lower than in neighboring countries.
Gasoline prices in Cambodia and Thailand were 18% and 27% higher, respectively, while prices in China were 41% higher and those in Laos 97% higher.
