Gasoline prices spike – VnExpress International

Gasoline prices in Vietnam rose Thursday afternoon following changes in the global fuel markets.

The popular fuel E10 RON95 went up 2.75% to VND20,550 (US$0.78) per liter.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance said global fuel prices have shown mixed movements over the past seven days as markets reacted to the U.S.-Iran conflict.

RON95 gasoline rose 6.4% to $103.70 per barrel, while diesel climbed 17% to $136.30 per barrel.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade said Vietnam’s retail gasoline prices remain about VND4,800 to VND22,000 per liter lower than those in Cambodia, Thailand, China, and Laos. Diesel prices are also VND2,900 to VND10,600 per, liter lower than in those countries.

Since June 1, all RON95 gasoline has been blended with 10% ethanol to produce E10 gasoline. Ministry of Industry and Trade said consumer complaints about E10 gasoline have gradually declined after more than a month of implementation.
