On Thursday, on the domestic commodity market MCX, gold was trading at Rs 1,41,347 per 10 grams and silver at Rs 2,19,707 per kg. Earlier on Wednesday, gold had closed at Rs 1,41,900 per 10 grams and silver at Rs 2,20,750 per kilogram.
How much did gold and silver break from all time high?
On January 29, 2026, gold reached a record level of Rs 1,80,000 per 10 grams and silver reached Rs 4,20,000 per kilogram. In comparison, now gold has become cheaper by about Rs 38,653 per 10 grams and silver by about Rs 2 lakh per kilogram. The price of silver has fallen to almost half of its record high.
Weakness in international market also
Gold and silver are also under pressure in the international commodity market COMEX. On Thursday, gold is trading at $ 4,043.80 per ounce and silver at $ 57.33 per ounce. Whereas on January 29, gold had reached the highest level of $ 5,500 per ounce and silver had reached the highest level of $ 121 per ounce.

Amidst the ongoing decline in the commodity market, commodity expert Manoj Kumar Jain of Prithvi Finmart has advised that investors who have long positions should book profits on every upswing. At the same time, long-term investors have been advised to maintain their positions instead of panicking.
