Former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has spoken about his resignation for the first time since the ‘Gen Z’ movement. He claimed that the new generation of youth is being misled. He claimed that some people have tried to mislead ‘Gen Z’ and the new generation of youth.
Dharmendra Pradhan claims that he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the protest at Jantar Mantar and appealed to the Prime Minister to accept the youth’s demands so that their grievances are not exploited for political purposes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his approval of Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. Later, he himself spoke on the issue. Dharmendra Pradhan said that some political parties misuse this movement. He himself offered his resignation to the top leadership.

I became the target of ‘Gen Z’s’ anger. The way this entire matter was handled for some time made me feel that some people were trying to mislead the new generation of children.

Dharmendra Pradhan said, “Around 20 million children are born in India every year. If we look at the youth between the ages of 15 and 25, there will be 200 million youth in the next 10 years, who will have the responsibility of making the country a global power.”

Dharmendra Pradhan said that he had not put his honor at stake. He recalled that he had resigned from the post of Education Minister on July 25th amid the NEET paper leak controversy and student protests. In his resignation note, he wrote that this step was taken to prevent anti-national forces from misusing the movement and to ensure that the future of students was not entangled in legal complications.

Rohit Pujari, a leader of Odisha’s main opposition party, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), said on Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, “No one has defamed Dharmendra Pradhan, but his own party and government have defamed him through police lathicharges, tear gas, and atrocities. More than 20 students committed suicide in this controversy.”
