Now the police is investigating who is involved in this alleged fraud and how the fake order for appointment to a government post was prepared.

According to the police, Manoj Talekar reached the Excise Department office with the appointment letter. He told the employees there that the government has made him the new Excise Commissioner of Goa. After this he went and sat on the chair of this post. But the employees doubted his words. To know the truth he contacted senior government officials.

How was the fake appointment letter exposed?

Investigation revealed that the government had not issued any order to make Manoj Talekar the Excise Commissioner. The letter he showed was said to be signed by the former commissioner. But when the officials investigated, his claim of appointment was found to be false. After this, on Thursday, the department employees called the police and informed them about the entire matter.

According to the police, during interrogation Talekar told that Ajit Shankhwalkar had promised him to get a government job. He had allegedly given Rs 27 lakh in exchange for this job. Police have registered the case and taken Talekar into custody. Meanwhile, the search is on for Shankhwalkar.
