Godrej Industries : New Purpose of Godrej Industries; 500000 crore target by 2031

Mumbai : Godrej Industries Group has unveiled its new purpose and new brand identity on Wednesday, April 22, 2025. This is an important milestone in the Group’s development, aligning its new identity, strategy and ambitions with future growth. Drawing inspiration from a strong heritage of 129 years and the modern energy of the new identity, this identity creates a clear strategic synergy across the group’s diverse portfolios of consumer products, real estate, financial services, agriculture and chemicals. This significant change was announced at a press conference held at Godrej One, its headquarters in Mumbai.

At the heart of this transformation is the Group’s new purpose: the vision ‘Building Tomorrow Since 1897’ reflects the Group’s historical heritage and its ambition to create ‘sustainable value’ through a blend of innovation and responsibility. This aim is inspired by the life-philosophy of Ardeshir Godrej, the founder of the group, who has always maintained an unwavering balance between modernity and values. The group has re-emphasized its three core values—Building Trust, Enjoying and Being Bold, which will continue to guide leadership and decision-making across the organization.

Pirojsha Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Industries Group said, “‘Since 1897, Continuously Building, for Every Tomorrow’ reflects our belief that values and results should always go hand in hand. As we expand, this philosophy will continue to inspire us to build successful and responsible businesses.”

The Group has established a strong record of growth, with both sales and net profit achieving a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 20% over the past five years. The group has set clear objectives for the next phase of its development, with a target of over 15% growth in annual sales and over 20% in earnings per share (EPS). Additionally, each business is expected to generate a constant equity return of over 18%. The group intends to expand its three publicly listed companies (consumer products, property and agri-veterinary) to five. These initiatives are expected to achieve a total market capitalization of Rs 5,00,000 crore in the next five years.

The Group’s development strategy is based on the firm belief that superior financial performance and positive impact on society and the environment must complement each other. In 2025, both Godrej Consumer Products and Godrej Properties ranked first globally in their respective categories in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Sustainability Index. Building on this foundation, the Group has targeted net-zero operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 2035 and an eco-friendly supply chain by 2047. Additionally, the group aims to achieve 40% representation of women, the LGBTQ+ community and persons with disabilities over the next five years—a goal that Godrej Properties and the group’s corporate center have already achieved. Not only this, but by 2025, the Godrej Foundation (which owns a 15% stake in the Godrej Industries Group) has built up a substantial cash pool, allowing it to increase its annual philanthropic spending five times from previous levels.

In line with its new objective, the group also introduced a new brand identity created by the group’s in-house design team, DISCO. This brand identity is designed to create a more integrated and future-ready corporate brand system. It includes a new visual language, distinctive typography (GI Sans), a distinctive sound identity and a signature fragrance, providing a coherent and multi-sensory expression across digital, physical and experiential media.

It reinforces the strength of the Godrej brand, while also providing a modern and unified approach to our future ambitions. This identity enables each of our businesses to be more closely aligned with a common purpose, while remaining dedicated to their specific functions.”
