Why are gold and silver prices moving?
International bullion prices influence gold prices, the US dollar exchange rate and domestic jewellery demand. Market sentiment around global interest rates also remains an important factor for precious metals.
The latest domestic rates come after gold prices in Delhi rose by Rs 1,400 on Friday to Rs 1,60,900 per 10 grams, according to traders cited by PTI. Silver in Delhi remained unchanged at Rs 2,40,500 per kg on Friday.
Retail jewellery prices may differ from the quoted bullion rates because of GST, making charges, purity premiums and individual jeweller pricing. Consumers should therefore check the final rate with their jeweller before making a purchase.
