In the country’s financial capital Mumbai and Kolkata, the price of 24 carat gold is running at Rs 1,44,220 per 10 grams. Whereas in Chennai, the major city of South India, 24 carat gold is being sold at the highest price of Rs 1,44,610 per 10 grams. Today’s latest price of 24 carat gold in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat has been recorded at Rs 1,44,270 per 10 grams.
What do market experts say?
According to Kaynat Chenwala, AVP of Commodity Research at Kotak Securities, gold and silver have cooled due to the strengthening dollar. She says that spot gold in the international market has fallen from its highest level on Thursday to below $4,060 per ounce. Furthermore, rising crude oil prices in the international market have significantly reduced investor interest in precious metals. Silver has also fallen globally and is currently trading around $58 per ounce.
