Dehradun. Saturday brought great relief to millions of elderly people, widows, and disabled people in Uttarakhand. The state government transferred the July 2026 pension amount directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred a total of ₹146.325 million via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) with a single click from his camp office. This decision directly benefited more than 987,000 people in the state.
State pensioners have been waiting for their July installment for a long time. This government initiative has now freed beneficiaries from the hassle of visiting government offices. Officials say the entire process has been made digital and transparent so that every eligible individual can receive their entitlement promptly and without any interruptions.
Elderly and widowed sisters got great support
This time, looking at the data released by the Social Welfare Department, the largest benefit has been provided under the Old Age Pension Scheme. A total of ₹92.34 crore was transferred to the accounts of 615,628 elderly people in the state at the rate of ₹1,500 per month. Meanwhile, 236,983 widows struggling with financial hardship after the death of their husbands were also provided financial assistance of ₹35.54 crore at the rate of ₹1,500 per month.
During the ceremony, Chief Minister Dhami clearly stated that the vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of society are not separate, but part of the government’s family. He said, “Our resolve is that no elderly parent, widowed sister, or disabled brother should have to run around government offices to receive their pension. Our priority is to ensure that every eligible citizen receives their rights respectfully and on time.”
Know how much amount was transferred in which scheme
The state government has allocated this budget to various sections under various social security schemes. According to the data, ₹13.36 crore was released to 89,128 disabled beneficiaries at the rate of ₹1,500 per month. Additionally, ₹3.2 crore in farmer pensions were distributed to 27,288 farmers in the state at the rate of ₹1,200 per month.
To support abandoned women, approximately ₹99.40 lakh was transferred to the accounts of 8,284 beneficiaries at the rate of ₹1,200 per month. Regarding special grants and pensions, ₹51.68 lakh was distributed to 7,383 beneficiaries under the Maintenance Scheme, ₹26.35 lakh to 2,196 beneficiaries under the Tilu Rauteli Pension Scheme, and ₹1.52 lakh to 127 beneficiaries under the Dwarf Pension Scheme.
New SNA Sparsh system makes payments transparent
Giving details, Social Welfare Minister Khajan Das stated that the total 987,017 pensioners who received payments this month include approximately 215,000 pensioners from the central government’s National Social Assistance Program (NSAP). He explained that payments for central and state-coordinated programs are now being processed through a new, modern digital system called “SNA Sparsh,” eliminating any potential for fraud.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the state government is working on the core mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.” The path to making Uttarakhand self-reliant and empowered lies only through the welfare of the people at the bottom of society.
During this program organized at the camp office, many senior officers of the department including Social Welfare Department Secretary Sridhar Babu Addanki, Tribal Welfare Director Sanjay Tolia, Additional Secretary Sundarlal Semwal and Director Sanjay Kumar were present.
