New Delhi. The Central Government has approved the bonus for central employees. An ad-hoc bonus equivalent to 30 days' salary will be given to eligible employees for the financial year 2025-26. The Department of Expenditure of the Ministry of Finance has issued an office memorandum in this regard on 15 October 2026. The amount of bonus will be decided on the basis of salary and service period of the employee.

Which employees will get bonus?

The benefit of this decision will be available to eligible Group C and Non-Gazetted Group B employees. Central Armed Police Forces and eligible employees of Armed Forces are also included in it. Employees of some Union Territories falling under the pay structure of the Central Government will also get the benefit. However, employees who are already covered under any other productivity-based bonus scheme or other bonus arrangement will not be eligible for this ad-hoc bonus.

How much bonus amount will you get?

The maximum monthly salary for calculating the bonus has been fixed at ₹7,000. Eligible employees whose average monthly salary is ₹7,000 or more and have completed the required service period can get a bonus of approximately ₹6,908. If the salary is less than ₹7,000 or the employee has not completed eligible service in the entire financial year, the bonus amount will also be reduced proportionately.

Requirements for bonus

The employee must be in service as on March 31, 2026 and must have completed at least six months of continuous service in the financial year 2025-26. Employees with more than six months but less than one year of eligible service will be paid on a pro-rata basis. There are separate working day conditions for daily wage employees.

As per the formula set by the government, 30 days bonus on a monthly salary of Rs 7,000 is calculated to be approximately Rs 6,908. The actual payment will depend on the employee's eligibility, average salary and length of service.
