Good news for employees, Pay Commission meeting schedule released

New Delhi. Once again good news is coming for lakhs of central government employees and pensioners. Now a new ray of hope is visible among the employees who have been waiting for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission and its recommendations for a long time. After the schedule of important meetings to be held with Defense and Railway employee organizations in Delhi has been decided, the discussion has intensified that there may be a major change in the salary and allowances of the employees in the coming time.

According to the information, important meetings will be organized between the Pay Commission representatives and employee organizations in the middle and last week of May 2026. Especially employee organizations related to railway and defense sector have been called in these meetings. It is believed that in these discussions, there will be detailed discussion on the current salary system of the employees, shortcomings in allowances and possible reforms in the future.

What is the biggest demand of the employees?

At present, the biggest discussion is regarding the fitment factor. Employee organizations are continuously demanding its increase. At present the fitment factor under the 7th Pay Commission is 2.57, but employees say that it should be increased in view of rising inflation and cost of living.

If the fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission is increased to 3.68 or more, then there may be a big jump in the basic salary of central employees. Lakhs of employees as well as pensioners will benefit directly from this. Railway and defense employee organizations have included this issue in their primary demands.

How can you present your point before the commission?

Many employee organizations and unions are preparing to present their demands before the Commission. For this, the procedure decided by the Commission will have to be followed. Recognized employee organizations can take appointment through the official portal or correspondence. Along with this, they will also have to prepare a detailed memorandum, giving logical details of the salary structure, allowances, fitment factor and other financial demands.

Why are these meetings considered important?

Usually a new pay commission is implemented every 10 years. The recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission were implemented in the year 2016. In such a situation, employees hope that the new pay commission can be implemented in 2026. These meetings to be held in Delhi are being considered an important step in that direction.

If the Commission accepts the demands of the employees, it will not only lead to an increase in salary but may also see improvements in dearness allowance, traveling allowance and pension. This is the reason why lakhs of employees and pensioners across the country are keeping an eye on these meetings.
