Good news for migrant workers in UP, announcement of 5 kg free LPG cylinder

Lucknow. A major relief has been announced for migrant workers and unorganized sector workers in Uttar Pradesh. The state government has instructed to start a scheme to provide free 5 kg LPG cylinder to such workers. Its objective is to ensure easy access to cooking gas to needy families and to help them financially.

Chief Secretary held a high level review meeting

Chief Secretary SP Goyal held a weekly review meeting with all Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates through video conferencing on Wednesday. During this, he gave instructions to ensure uninterrupted supply of domestic gas in the state and to keep a strict vigil on any kind of black marketing or hoarding.

Special scheme for migrant workers

The government has directed that migrant workers working in industrial areas and the unorganized sector should be identified. After this, 5 kg free LPG cylinder will be provided to them through special camps. This step is being considered as a relief for those workers who come from economically weaker section.

Strict action on black marketing

It was also made clear in the meeting that any kind of irregularity in the gas supply system will not be tolerated. Officials have been instructed to keep strict vigil and take immediate action against hoarding or illegal selling.

PNG connection boost

The Chief Secretary also said that in areas and multi-storey buildings where Piped Natural Gas (PNG) has reached, people should be motivated to use it. This will reduce dependence on traditional cylinders and make gas supply more organized.
