A big and relief news related to agricultural machinery and agricultural protection equipment has come to the fore for the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. The process of selection of farmers who had applied to purchase agricultural equipment on grant or subsidy under the agricultural schemes of the state government is now going to progress rapidly.
The Agriculture Department has issued strict instructions to conduct e-lottery in all the districts of the state on 20th and 21st August. At the same time, the beneficiaries of the booking done at the state level will be selected through e-lottery directly from the directorate level on August 21. The Agriculture Department has sent necessary guidelines in this regard to the Deputy Agriculture Directors of all the districts, so that the process can be completed on time.
Thousands of farmers had made bookings
Under departmental schemes, online applications and booking for agricultural equipment were sought from farmers. From July 16 to August 10, farmers from across the state made their bookings on the departmental portal. Now, among the agricultural equipment for which applications have been received more than the set target, fair selection of beneficiaries will be done through e-lottery. With this, the work of selecting eligible farmers will be completed in the schemes where more applications have been received.
No lottery on booking equal to target
There will be no need to conduct e-lottery in those agricultural machinery and schemes where booking by farmers has been equal to or less than the fixed target. Booking of such farmers will be automatically confirmed on 19th August itself. With this, those farmers whose booking is within the available target will not have to wait for the lottery for selection.
Farmers will be selected in a transparent manner
The Agriculture Department has made special arrangements to keep the entire process of e-lottery completely transparent and clean. In the lottery to be held at the district level, the presence of the members of the District Level Executive Committee constituted under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate (DM) will be mandatory. Instructions have been given to organize the lottery at a public place where more and more farmers can come and see the entire process live with their own eyes. For this, arrangements have also been made to arrange a big screen and loudspeaker at the venue.
The entire process of e-lottery will be videographed.
It has been made mandatory to do videography of the entire proceedings taking place during the e-lottery. Its main objective is to maintain complete transparency in the selection process, so that there is no scope for any kind of bias or apprehension in the minds of the farmers. Apart from this, all the districts have been instructed to decide the date, time and exact place of organizing the e-lottery and send its complete information to the Agriculture Directorate by August 19.
