Good news from Glasgow! Indian gymnast Pratishtha Samantha made it to the vault finals, Pranati Nayak missed by a slight margin

Glasgow: India’s prestige Samantha has secured her place in the final of the women’s vault event by performing brilliantly in the gymnastics competition of the Commonwealth Games. In the qualifying match played on Saturday, the 22-year-old gymnast from West Bengal scored a total of 13.025 points on the basis of both the vaults and made it to the top eight by finishing fifth.

India’s Pranati Nayak, however, missed qualifying by a small margin. She finished 11th with a score of 12.555 and was the third reserve player.

Among other Indian players, Ishita Rewale finished 15th with 11.725 points, while Nishika Aggarwal finished 19th with 11.075 points.

In the all-round competition, both Pratistha and Ishita could not make it to the finals. She finished 27th and 28th with scores of 42.250 and 41.700 respectively. They have been placed third and fourth in the reserve list.

In the women’s team event, the Indian team finished ninth with 123 points. In this event, Australia won the gold medal with 158.400 points, while Canada won the silver medal with 157.300 points and England won the bronze medal with 154.300 points.
