Patna. Bihar government has taken an important decision to increase the income of people associated with goat rearing and strengthen the rural economy. Under Seven Nishchay-3, a federation will be formed in the state to provide better market to the products of goat farmers. Through this, the system of collection, processing and sale of goat, meat and milk will be strengthened.
Rs 14.80 crore will be spent in three years
A total of Rs 14.80 crore will be spent on this scheme from the financial year 2026-27 to 2028-29. The aim of the government is to connect goat farmers with the market and provide them fair prices for their products. This can also increase new employment and income opportunities in rural areas.
Emphasis will also be on breed improvement
Breed improvement centers will also be established to make goat rearing more productive and profitable. With the availability of better breeds, cattle farmers are expected to get more benefits from goat rearing.
Apart from this, under Rashtriya Gokul Mission, approval has been given to build 500-500 calf rearing centers in Dumraon and Munger of Buxar. There will be arrangements for rearing a total of 1000 calves in both the centres. About Rs 73.48 crore will be spent on this project, of which Rs 68.93 crore will be given from the state scheme.
These decisions of the government are expected to boost the animal husbandry sector and also help in increasing the income of rural families.
