Government is strict on those giving injections in the name of skin glow, CDSCO issued a big warning

Tezzbuzz Desk- Now the Central Government has started taking strict action against the clinics and companies giving injections in the name of skin glow, anti-aging and beauty treatment. Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has made it clear that using any cosmetic product as an injection is against the rules. The government has warned that strict action will be taken against those making such misleading claims.

In the notice issued by the Drug Controller General of India, Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, it has been said that cosmetic companies cannot make misleading and treatment-like claims about their products. Making such claims on the advertisement, packaging or label of any product will be considered a violation of the law, which may mislead people.

According to officials, many such cases had come to light in recent times, where injection-based procedures were being done in the name of skin whitening, glow and anti-aging treatments in beauty clinics. After this CDSCO has taken this strict step.

The government has clarified that cosmetic products under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 are for external use only. Their purpose is to clean the body, enhance its beauty and make it look attractive. These cannot be used to treat any disease or as injections.

CDSCO has appealed to the general public that if any misuse of cosmetic products, use through injection or misleading publicity is seen, then immediately inform the concerned regulatory agencies or state licensing authority.

This action of the government is being considered as a big message especially for aesthetic, beauty and wellness clinics. Experts say that such treatments being done without medical approval can pose a serious threat to people’s health. Therefore, it is very important to consult a doctor before any cosmetic procedure.
