Grand campaign of Adani Foundation on the 64th birthday of Gautam Adani, 52,306 units of blood collected in India and abroad, more than 1.5 lakh patients will get new life.

On the special occasion of the 64th birthday of Adani Group Chairman Shri Gautam Adani, Adani Foundation has set a unique example. Instead of making this special day of the corporate world just a celebration, the Foundation transformed it into a big global movement of service, kindness and hope. Inspired by the basic mantra of ‘Service is Sadhana’, thousands of donors from across the country and the world have come together to make this annual mega blood donation drive the biggest and successful campaign till date.

This year the mega-campaign was organized in more than 754 cities, towns and villages across 21 states, 5 union territories and 4 international locations. A total of 52,306 units of blood has been collected in this campaign organized in collaboration with Red Cross Blood Bank, government and trust hospitals. This figure is almost double from last year’s record collection of 28,090 units, which shows the unwavering faith of the people.

More than 6,000 volunteers took command, patients will get life support
The success of this drive, which was run under the supervision of Adani Healthcare team, was due to the hard work of more than 6,000 volunteers, doctors, paramedics and administrative staff. The blood components (such as whole blood, platelets, plasma and albumin) collected from this blood donation are expected to provide new life to more than 1,56,918 patients suffering from emergency care, major surgery, cancer treatment and maternal healthcare.

Let us tell you that this voluntary campaign, which started with just 1,300 units in 2011, has today become one of the largest blood donation movements in India. Currently, Adani Foundation is improving the lives of 13.3 million people through education, health, nutrition and community development in 7,247 villages in 22 states of the country.
