Grand inauguration of India-Brazil Film and Cultural Exchange Program 2026 at Doon Film School

Doon Film School: “India-Brazil Film and Cultural Exchange Program 2026” was inaugurated by Doon Film School under the joint aegis of Doon Society of Film and Television and Brazil’s prestigious organization Cinema No Interior on Monday with a grand orientation cum inauguration ceremony held at Doon Library and Research Centre, Dehradun. The program had a dignified presence of academicians, film experts, guests, faculty members and students from India and abroad.

Address by Managing Director of Doon Film School on the hosting and objective of the program

The event was hosted by Siddharth Priyadarshi, Managing Director, Doon Film School. Welcoming all the guests and participants, he said that this initiative between India and Brazil is not just an educational exchange program but an important effort to connect two cultures, two societies and two creative traditions through cinema.

Uttarakhand Film Development Council official laid emphasis on international opportunities

Chief guest of the program K. S. Chauhan was the Joint Chief Executive Officer, Uttarakhand Film Development Council (UFDC). In his address, he said that Uttarakhand is rapidly making its mark in the field of film production and film education and such international programs will open new doors of global opportunities for the students.

Dr. Hemant Bisht told the importance of international cooperation

Special guest of the function, Dr. Hemant Bisht, Deputy Controller of Examinations, Sridev Suman Uttarakhand University, while highlighting the importance of international cooperation to the students, said that such programs provide a new direction to creative education.

Representatives of India and Brazil shared views

On this occasion, Dr. M.K., Advisor to the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Otani, Amin Khan of Nazarbattu Productions, Vaibhav Goyal of Colored Checkers, and Cinema No Interior representatives Antonio Marcos Gomes de Carvalho and Maria Laura Vieira Cavalcanti Viana from Brazil also shared their views. All the speakers stressed the possibilities of long-term cooperation between India and Brazil in the field of cinema and culture.

Cinema is universal language connecting cultures: Siddharth Priyadarshi

In his welcome address, Siddharth Priyadarshi said, “Cinema knows no boundaries. It is a universal language that connects people, cultures and ideas. Our aim is not just to teach the students the techniques of film making, but to prepare them for global thinking, cultural sensitivity and creative leadership.”

Dean S. R. Mukesh welcomed the students

During the program, Dean of Doon Film School S. R. Mukesh welcomed the newly admitted students and introduced them to all the faculty members and heads of departments of the institute. He informed the students in detail about the academic culture of the institute, practical training system and opportunities for international cooperation and inspired them to make a positive start to their creative journey.

Outline of the program presented in the orientation session

A detailed outline of the India-Brazil Film and Cultural Exchange Program was presented in the orientation session. Students were given information related to upcoming workshops, masterclasses, joint film production, cultural activities and academic collaborations. Indian and Brazilian students got acquainted with each other and shared their experiences.

Doon Society of Film and Television appreciated the initiative

On this occasion, Doon Society of Film and Television President Jai Singh and other respected members of the society were also present. He praised this international initiative and called it an important achievement for the film education sector of Uttarakhand and India.

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Devidutt, Principal and Director of Doon Film School, thanked all the guests, the Brazilian delegation, partner institutions, faculty members, students, media representatives and the organizing team and said that this program is a historic step towards taking the cultural and educational relations between India and Brazil to new heights.
