Considered historic for Rajasthan yamuna water agreement Chief Minister reached Jaipur on Tuesday after Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma He was given an unprecedented and grand welcome in the capital. A large number of people of the state, public representatives, ministers, MLAs and Bharatiya Janata Party workers present at Rambagh Circle warmly welcomed the Chief Minister and celebrated this historic achievement.

Expressing his gratitude to the people of the state for this warm welcome, the Chief Minister said that this honor is not for any individual but is a symbol of the public’s faith in the development of Rajasthan, the prosperity of the farmers and the bright future of the state.

‘This is not just an agreement, a new beginning for the future of Shekhawati’

Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that the life-giving water of Yamuna will bring new hope in the lives of millions of people of Rajasthan including Shekhawati. He said that the areas facing water crisis for years are now going to get a permanent solution, which will provide huge benefits to the farmers, common citizens and the coming generations.

He said that the affection, trust and blessings of the people of the state will continue to inspire his government for public welfare works.

Targeted at Congress

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also targeted the previous Congress governments. He said that there were Congress governments in the Centre, Rajasthan and Haryana for a long time, but no serious initiative was ever taken to solve the water crisis of Shekhawati region.

He said that promises of bringing Yamuna water were made in every election, but they remained mere election announcements. For decades neither any decisive decision was taken nor any concrete work was seen on the ground.

The Chief Minister said that his government not only made the announcement but also took concrete steps to fulfill this years-old demand by concluding the historic Yamuna Water Agreement.

‘My farmer will produce gold from soil’

Reiterating his government’s commitment towards farmers, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the farmer of Rajasthan is a symbol of hard work and self-confidence.

He said,

“My farmer produces gold not from potatoes, but from soil. When the thirsty land of Shekhawati gets water, my farmer will produce gold from the soil.”

The Chief Minister said that the priority of the government is to provide water to every farm of the state and make every farmer prosperous. He believes that increasing irrigation facilities will bring a big change in agricultural production and Shekhawati region will become more economically strong.

Shekhawati’s development will get a new direction

The Chief Minister said that the Yamuna Water Project is not limited to providing water only, but it will become the basis for social and economic development of the entire region.

He said that increasing irrigation facilities will increase agricultural production, farmers’ income will increase and new employment opportunities will also be created. Besides, lakhs of families suffering from drinking water crisis will also get great relief.

For a long time there was a demand to provide Yamuna water to Shekhawati region. Now after this agreement, the government hopes that in the coming time, a permanent solution to the water crisis of the area will be possible.
