Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big decision to encourage meritorious girl students pursuing higher education. The state cabinet has approved the Rani Lakshmibai Scooty Scheme. Through this scheme, free scooters will be provided to girl students who have excelled in colleges and universities. The aim of the government is to encourage daughters for education and to provide them better transportation facilities.
50 thousand girl students will benefit in the first phase
According to the government plan, around 50,000 girl students will be given free scooties in the initial phase. This facility will be applicable from the academic session 2025-26. Girl students who have excelled at the graduation level in every recognized college and university will get the benefit of this scheme.
Which girl students will get free scooty?
Under the scheme, girl students from government, private, self-financed and other recognized higher educational institutions have been included. Scooty will be provided by the government to eligible girl students who secure top-5 positions in their college or university. Its objective is to honor talented girl students and motivate them for further studies.
These facilities will be available with Scooty
Under this scheme, not only the scooter will be given, but the initial expenses related to it will also be taken care of. The government will also provide vehicle registration, insurance and 5 liters of petrol to begin with, so that the girl students do not have to face any additional financial burden.
