Lucknow. There is good news for the people associated with fish farming in Uttar Pradesh. The Fisheries Department has started the process of online application to avail benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). Interested and eligible people can apply on the departmental portal till 24 August 2026.
Applications open for six projects
According to the Fisheries Department, this time applications have been sought for six different projects under the scheme. These include large area pond construction, medium-sized recirculatory aquaculture system (RAS) units, rearing units and backyard RAS units for women.
Apart from this, stocking of 65 thousand fish fingerlings in the reservoirs and provision of 500 livelihood and nutrition support units for traditional fisherman families has also been made.

Information about the cost, eligibility, application process and necessary documents of the projects related to the scheme has been made available on the departmental portal. At the district level also, arrangements have been made to provide information related to applications to fishermen and other eligible people.
The Fisheries Department has given instructions to publicize the scheme in all the districts, so that more and more eligible people can take advantage of it. People applying are advised not to wait for the last date and complete the online application on time with the necessary documents.
