Great news for the people of Uttarakhand! Ramnagar-Dehradun Express inaugurated
Another new chapter has been added in the development of Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav flagged off the ‘Ramnagar-Dehradun Express’ train service through virtual medium on Saturday. This train will run twice a week and will provide a new lifeline to Kumaon and Garhwal divisions. The Chief Minister has described it as a historic achievement for the development journey of the state.
‘Bridge’ will be built between Kumaon and Garhwal
Chief Minister Dhami said that this rail service will not only be convenient for passengers and tourists, but will also prove to be very helpful for businessmen, students and government employees. This train will pass through major stations like Kashipur, Roshanpur, Pipalsana, Moradabad, Najibabad and Haridwar between Ramnagar and Dehradun. With the connection of this route, a large area of western Uttar Pradesh will also get direct rail connectivity with Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for this wonderful gift.
If the number of passengers increases, the train will run daily
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that if the number of passengers increases, a decision will be taken to run this service on a daily basis. He said that the Central Government is committed to strengthening the rail network in Uttarakhand. Praising the efforts of CM Dhami, the Railway Minister said that 11 railway stations of the state are being modernized. Also, he informed that in the last few years, 20 new and expanded rail services connecting Uttarakhand have been started, which will give a new impetus to the tourism and economy of the state.
Rapid development of railways in Uttarakhand
The Chief Minister said that the work of Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project in Uttarakhand is in the final stage, which will prove to be a game-changer for the religious and social development of the state. He said that for the year 2026-27, the state has received a record budget of Rs 4,769 crore for railway infrastructure development. At present, various railway projects worth about Rs 39 thousand crore are going on at a fast pace in the state. Due to the efforts of the double engine government, the pace of development in the fields of roads, railways, health and digital connectivity has doubled in the state.
