A major accident occurred when a massive fire broke out in a moving sleeper bus on Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida. Nine people are reported dead in the accident. There are said to be around 40 to 50 passengers in the bus. After the fire, there was shouting and chaos on the spot.
It is being told that the bus was going to Bihar. The accident took place in Jewar police station area, about 32 kilometers ahead of zero point on Yamuna Expressway. Suddenly a fire broke out in a moving bus. Within no time the fire engulfed the entire bus. As soon as the fire broke out, there was panic among the passengers. Many passengers tried to save their lives by jumping from the bus. During this time an atmosphere of chaos was created on the spot.
Fire brigade team reached the spot
As soon as information about the incident was received, the fire department team reached the spot and started the work of extinguishing the fire. After hard work the fire was brought under control. At present, the process of cooling down the bus is being completed so that a search operation can be conducted inside. After cooldown, a search was conducted inside the bus. Meanwhile, the bodies of the dead were recovered from inside the bus and taken out.
Police started investigation
As soon as information about the accident was received, the police team also reached the spot. The police have inspected the incident site and started investigation. At present the cause of fire in the bus has not been known. Police are interrogating the passengers traveling in the bus and other people present at the spot. The process of identifying the people who lost their lives in the accident has also been started.
According to Joint CP Rajeev Narayan Mishra, there were about 40 to 50 people in the bus. So far 8 people have been reported dead in the accident. Police and administration teams are busy investigating the entire matter.
