Greenfield Expressway will pass through Bihar, great news for 9 districts
News Desk. A big infrastructure project may soon become a new identity for Bihar. Bihar is going to get the biggest benefit from the proposed Greenfield Expressway from Varanasi to Kolkata. This high-speed corridor will directly connect many important districts of the state with Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal, opening new avenues of travel, trade and investment.
South Bihar will get direct benefit
This expressway can prove to be a game changer especially for the districts of South Bihar. Access to big cities from areas like Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad and Gaya will be much easier than before. Building a better road network will provide great relief to passengers as well as businessmen and the transport sector. Due to the new road project, industrial activities are expected to increase in these districts.
Long journey will be completed in half the time
Currently it takes about 12 to 14 hours to travel by road from Varanasi to Kolkata. But after the construction of the expressway, this distance can be covered in about 6 hours. This will speed up freight transportation and reduce transport costs.
Corridor will connect many states
This expressway will start from Varanasi region of Uttar Pradesh and pass through many parts of Bihar. After this it will reach Kolkata connecting Jharkhand and West Bengal. After Bihar, this route will pass through important industrial areas of Jharkhand, which will strengthen the transportation network across Eastern India. Due to direct connectivity to major cities of West Bengal, business activities are also expected to accelerate.
Construction will be done keeping the environment in mind
Work had slowed down in some parts of the project due to the environmental clearance process. Now after getting the necessary approvals, the construction work is likely to speed up. A special plan is being prepared by the government to protect the forests and wildlife areas so that the natural balance is not affected. Modern technologies will be used to ensure safe movement of wildlife.
