After losing the toss, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya said, ‘I think we have to play better cricket overall. I can’t point to any one thing. Two players are debuting for us. Danish Malewar is playing his first match for Mumbai Indians. Krish Bhagat, who was earlier a part of the support bowlers, also impressed us a lot. He joined the team just three days ago and is playing today.

Who are Danish Malewar and Krish Bhagat?

Danish Malewar is a young batsman from Vidarbha. It is the result of his tremendous performance in domestic cricket that he got the contract for IPL 2026. He also scored his first first-class double century in the quarter-finals of the Duleep Trophy. The special thing is that Danish has played only first-class cricket till now and that too a total of 13 matches. Despite this, Mumbai Indians showed confidence in him and included him in their team for his base price of Rs 30 lakh.
