News of plane hitting tree in Chhattisgarh turned out to be wrong, no evidence found

On Monday, the news of a small plane crashing in a forest in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh spread rapidly. Some media portals reported that the plane had gone down after hitting a tree. The incident was being reported in Ratanpahali forest near Khurasagarha village of Narayanpur police station area.

 

It was said in the news that the plane was flying at a very low altitude, i.e. only about 30 feet above the ground. During this time it collided with a tree and fell.

 

According to Jashpur Collector Rohit Vyas, it was investigated in Narayanpur Hills. According to Chhattisgarh government, no such report has come yet. The Collector said, ‘We had received information that a plane had crashed in Narayanpur area. As soon as we got the information, we came to this area and investigated but no evidence of plane crash was found.

 

Video from the scene of the incident shows a small single-engine propeller plane flying just above treeline, much lower than expected. An accident happened a few moments later.
