Trump’s direct warning to Iran: ‘No trickery, no deception will do’, will there be a grand meeting in Pakistan?
Washington/Islamabad: Amidst the clouds of war in West Asia, Donald Trump has shocked the world by making a big statement. Trump has completely rejected Iran’s claims that he will not participate in the peace talks to be held in Pakistan. Trump has bluntly said that America is fully ready for talks and if the situation improves, he himself will not shy away from sitting at the table with Iranian leaders.
‘No trickery will do, the door to dialogue is open’
In a recent interview, Trump made it clear that America is serious about peace talks at this time. He also rejected apprehensions that the talks would fail. Expressing confidence, Trump said that at present no ‘tricks’ or ‘game’ is being played by either side. He informed that Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and advisor Jared Kushner have left for Pakistan’s capital Islamabad. This team will reach there and prepare a blueprint for talks.
Trump placed this strict condition before Iran
Trump has indicated that he is also personally ready for diplomacy. “If they (Iranian leaders) want to meet, I have no problem,” he said. However, he also reiterated his biggest condition. Trump made it clear that Iran will have to completely abandon its nuclear weapons program. America is in no mood to compromise even an iota on this issue. According to Trump, if Iran agrees, the path to progress will open for it, but if it backs out, the consequences will be very bad.
Tension increased after the attack on the ship
Clouds of doubt are also hovering over this possible talk. Recently, America attacked and seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship. Iran is enraged after this incident. Iran’s joint military command has vowed revenge. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told Pakistan that US threats and attacks on ships show that Washington is not honest about talks and is only being ‘dishonest’.
Ceasefire deadline and future challenges
All this diplomacy is taking place at a time when the deadline for the US-Iran ceasefire is approaching. The eyes of the entire Middle East are now fixed on Islamabad. On one hand Trump is talking about peace and on the other hand military action is also going on. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether this meeting to be held on Pakistani soil will be successful or the tension will deepen further.
