GT vs RCB: Patidar admits the team missed, Bengaluru sinks due to middle order failure

New Delhi. In the Indian Premier League 2026 match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans registered another important win by defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 4 wickets. After this defeat, RCB captain Rajat Patidar clearly admitted that his team was able to score 20-25 runs less, due to which they had to suffer the defeat.

After the match, Rajat Patidar said that the team came under pressure after early wickets fell and the middle order could not perform as expected. He admitted that the conditions on the pitch were normal, but the lack of partnerships weakened the team’s position.

Excellent discipline was seen in bowling from Gujarat Titans. By creating pressure in the initial overs itself, he shook the top order of RCB. On the other hand, lack of consistency in RCB’s batting was clearly visible, due to which a big score could not be scored.

Rajat Patidar also said that the middle overs are the most important in such matches, but his team failed to increase the run rate in those overs. He admitted that if 15-20 extra runs had been added, the result could have been different.

On behalf of Gujarat Titans, captain Shubman Gill gave a strong start to the team and handled the innings strategically. His captaincy and balanced performance of the batsmen played an important role in the team’s victory.

For RCB, this defeat did not become a matter of big concern in terms of points table, but it is definitely a warning for the team management that the middle order needs immediate improvement.

Rajat Patidar further said that there is no dearth of talent in the team, but in pressure situations it is important to make right decisions and partnerships. He expressed confidence that the team will bounce back in the coming matches and learn from the mistakes.

  • Overall, this match was a lesson for RCB, where small differences changed the big result. Gujarat Titans once again proved that they are capable of giving a tough competition to any team in home conditions.
