HaiwaanPriyadarshan's Hindi remake of his own Malayalam film Oppamopened weak at the box office on Friday, collecting just Rs 3 crore net in India on Day 1, according to Sacnilk.

It also faced stiff competition from Mirzapur: The Moviewhich released the previous week.
With a reported budget of Rs 100-115 crore, a Rs 3 crore opening is a disappointing start, and the film will need a significant jump over the weekend to have any real shot at recovery.
How it performs in the coming days will be crucial in determining whether it can turn things around.
The film also marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan as co-stars after 18 years, following earlier collaborations like Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Yeh Dillagi and Consult.
It’s also the final on-screen appearance of veteran actor Asrani, who passed away in 2025.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Haiwaan also stars Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher, with Mohanlal in a cameo, music by Pritam and score by Ronnie Raphael.
