Hapur. Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh is on the radar of security agencies these days. Recently, shocking revelations have come to light in the investigation by intelligence departments and Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad. In this, this seemingly peaceful district is turning into a safe haven for suspects and terrorists. Here, under the guise of education and small business, anti-national and anti-social elements are playing a disgusting game of misleading the innocent youth and pushing them on the path of violent jihad.

According to the information received by security experts and police, there are five main reasons behind Hapur becoming the center of such suspicious activities –
1. Proximity to Delhi-NCR and favorable geographical location
The geographical location of Hapur makes it extremely favorable for suspects. Being adjacent to the country's capital Delhi and Noida-Ghaziabad, commuting from here is very easy. To avoid the direct eyes of security agencies in Delhi, suspicious elements make Hapur their base and operate their network from here.
2. Advantage of inaccessible Khadar area

A large part of Hapur is connected to Khadar i.e. coastal rural areas of river Ganga. This area is quite large, full of dense forests and unpaved roads. In the beginning, they behave very normally, but gradually by growing close to the local youth, they start mentally brainwashing i.e. radicalizing them by showing them videos and inflammatory statements of the owners and masters of banned organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed.
4. Facade of small businesses
To dodge the security agencies, these suspects adopt small businesses like cloth hawking, puncture shop, scrap work or labour. Due to the mask of a common and poor shopkeeper, the neighbors and the police do not easily suspect them. Under the guise of this business, they maintain their connection with Pakistani handlers through social media and encrypted messaging apps in the dark of night.

5. Digital network of terror funding
In recent cases, it has also been seen that these anti-social elements are not only radicalizing the youth but are also collecting money at the local level in the name of religious donations. The work of sending this amount to anti-national activities and masters sitting across the border through digital transactions and hawala is also being done continuously.
Agencies alert, arrest intensified
Let us tell you that after the arrest of suspects associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed from Bahadurgarh and other sensitive areas of Hapur, UP Police and Central Intelligence agencies are on full alert. A massive search operation has been launched to identify outsiders already living in the district without police verification. An appeal has also been made to the local people to immediately inform the police about any suspicious person or activity so that action can be taken against them.
