According to media reports, Vijay’s party ‘Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam’ (TVK) has emerged as the largest party with 108 seats. He met Governor Rajendra Arlekar on Friday evening and submitted signatures of 116 MLAs. Despite this, this number was still two less than the ‘magic number’. 118 seats are required for majority in the 234-member Assembly. Vijay was expected to take oath on Saturday morning as there were reports that both VCK and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) would support TVK, taking the alliance’s seat count to 120.
However, now due to the changing political developments in Tamil Nadu, it seems that it is difficult for Vijay to take oath as CM on Saturday.
