Under this scheme, operations for congenital heart defects, valve disorders and other complex diseases have been done free of cost.

Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh’s appeal to the public

Health and Family Welfare Minister of Punjab Dr. Balbir Singh said that heart diseases are currently the biggest public health challenge. He urged people not to ignore the following early symptoms at all:

  1. Constant pain or heaviness in the chest.
  2. Shortness of breath on slight movement or work.
  3. Feeling unusually tired and weak for no reason.
  4. Pain spreading from the chest to the arms, jaw, neck or back.

The Minister of Health clarified, “No family will have to delay treatment due to lack of money. We are fully committed to bring quality healthcare to every eligible family.”
