During this time, the third youth driving the bike kept recording the entire incident from his mobile. After the firing, the three accused fled from the spot.

Gulab Sidhu was abroad at the time of the incident

At the time of the incident, Gulab Sidhu was present abroad in connection with his musical shows and live programs. After the incident, an alleged audio message has also surfaced, in which gangster Donny Bal has confessed to firing bullets at Gulab Sidhu's house. However, police and local media are investigating the authenticity of this audio.

Gulab Sidhu was one of the close friends of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. After the murder of Moosewala, Gulab Sidhu was allegedly receiving death threats and ransom calls. Based on security input, Punjab Police has already provided him two security personnel.

The attack plot also failed in January

This is not the first time that Gulab Sidhu has been the target of criminals. Earlier, on January 10, 2026, Barnala police had arrested three accused who were planning to attack the singer.

In that case, Sarpanch of Kotduna village Baljinder Singh alias Kinda was said to be the main conspirator. The allegation was that he was angry with the lyrics of Gulab Sidhu's song 'Sarpanchiyan' and wanted to spread terror in the area by attacking the singer during the live show, so that a huge ransom could be recovered later.

As soon as information about the incident was received, Sadar police station reached the spot and sealed the area. Police are checking the CCTV cameras installed at the entry and exit points of the village as well as on the main roads.

The forensic team has collected empty cartridges and other evidence from the spot. Police say that the accused will be identified soon and strict legal action will be taken against them.
