New Delhi : From last few days there is a drastic change in the atmosphere. In some areas by September 11 due to active weather systems in many parts of the country heavy rainthunder and lightning are likely. Eight districts of Uttarakhand and Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh are likely to face flash floods. Heavy to widespread rains are forecast over central, eastern and northeastern India in the next few days.
Due to active weather systems across the country, heavy rain, thunder and lightning is forecast over many parts of Northwest, Central, East, Northeast and South India till September 11. There is a possibility of lightning in some areas. Eight districts in the hilly state of Uttarakhand and one district in Himachal Pradesh are at risk of flash floods in the next 24 hours. Floods continue to wreak havoc in Bihar, with major rivers flowing above danger levels, affecting more than 16 lakh people. Meanwhile, the high peaks of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have received their first snowfall of the season.

According to a bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department on Saturday, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Nainital, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal and Uttarkashi districts of Uttarakhand, as well as Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh are likely to face flash floods around 11:30 am on September 6. Rain is forecast over East Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh on September 6, while in East Uttar Pradesh till September 8.
Increased risk in central and eastern India
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, West Madhya Pradesh in central India is likely to experience heavy rain on September 6-7, East Madhya Pradesh on September 5-8, Chhattisgarh on September 8-11 and Vidarbha in Maharashtra on September 11. In East India, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will receive widespread rain till September 11. Bihar is expected to receive heavy rains between September 7 and 11.
