Heinrich Klaasen enters record books, becomes 1st batter in the world to..

Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Heinrich Klaasen has been one of the best batters in the IPL 2026, and he scripted a new record in his franchise’s 14th match of the 19th season. He is the first player in the world to amass 600-plus runs in a T20 tournament while batting at No.4 or lower.

The right-handed batter was retained by SRH for INR 23 crore before the mega auction in 2025. He needed 45 runs on May 22 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru to take his overall tally past the 600-run mark in the ongoing season, and he completed the landmark in the 15th over of the first innings.

Before Klaasen, Rishabh Pant was the record holder. The southpaw had accumulated 579 runs in 11 innings for the Delhi Capitals in 2018.

Klaasen, who posted 51 runs off 24 balls for the 2016 champions on Friday, has scored 606 runs in IPL 2026. He has hit six fifties in this year’s season.
