Help Israel in the war and propaganda! Iran arrested 3300 citizens on charges of treason
During the war, a large part of Iran was conspiring against the enemy’s party! The Iranian administration arrested more than 3,000 citizens on the basis of such accusations of treason. This information was made public by Iran’s Department of Justice on Monday. It is said that this action was taken against Israel for direct aid and disinformation to the enemy country during the war.
Asghar Jahangir, spokesman of the Department of Justice, told the media that a total of 3,292 people have been detained on charges of treason. Among them, 684 people are accused of directly supporting Israel. 1258 people were arrested on charges of spreading propaganda against the state. Out of those arrested, 1061 people have also been charged. The properties of hundreds of people suspected of sedition have already been confiscated. Such incidents are not new in Iran. Although there were many allegations of human rights violations, Iran did not pay any attention to them.
More than 50,000 people were arrested after anti-government protests last January.
Meanwhile, the New York Times report claims that Iran’s judiciary said last week that it had confiscated the properties of 100 Ghadars in Isfahan province. However, no further information has been released. More than 50,000 people were arrested after anti-government protests last January. The dissidents were brutally suppressed by the administration there. Amidst this situation, Tehran claims, many Iranian citizens have been arrested who helped in joint US-Israeli airstrikes at the height of the war.
Meanwhile, international human rights organizations have come out against such activities of Iran. Amnesty International reported last month that dissidents are being repressed under the guise of a so-called state of war, with arbitrary arrests, false trials, politically motivated executions, and confiscation of property. In addition, a Norwegian human rights organization claims that at least 40 prisoners, including 19 protesters, have been hanged in Iran from the beginning of this year to June 8.
