Automobile Desk: Indian automobile manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has given a big gift to adventure lovers at the world's largest two-wheeler show EICMA going on in Italy. The company has officially introduced its most powerful and flagship adventure bike Hero Xpulse 450 to the world. Designed for lovers of rough roads and off-roading, this motorcycle seems to be far ahead not only in terms of power but also in terms of technology and features.
Powerful liquid-cooled engine and performance
The new Xpulse 450 uses a new 421 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This motor is capable of generating maximum power of 46.7 hp at 9,100 rpm and peak torque of 38 Nm at 7,500 rpm. If compared to the existing Xpulse 210 (24.6 hp / 20.7 Nm), this model feels almost twice as powerful in terms of power and pickup.
This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slip-and-assist clutch, which makes gear shifting quite smooth. The company says that the experiences of the Hero MotoSports team have been taken advantage of in its development, due to which this bike has the typical Dakar Rally look and capabilities.
Suspension and Hardware Setup
To maintain better control and ride quality during off-roading, the company has given 43 mm KYB cartridge USD fork suspension in its front. The travel of this suspension is 225 mm, which is 15 mm more than that of Xpulse 210. Riders can adjust the suspension in 22 different steps according to their needs and rough roads. Although the company has not yet shared the detailed information about the rear suspension, it is believed that a fully adjustable monoshock setup will be provided at the rear, which will have the option of compression and rebound settings.
Segment-first tech features and 7-inch display
Hero has taken special care of connectivity and technology in this bike. It has a large 7-inch full-color TFT display. The biggest feature of this bike is that it supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the first time in the segment. This means that now riders will get premium experience of navigation and phone calls right on the screen of their bike. Along with this, the bike is also provided with 4 riding modes for different roads and weather conditions and traction control system for safety.
When will it be launched in India?
Hero MotoCorp has not yet revealed the prices of this adventure bike or its official launch date in India. According to the strategy, it will first be launched in European and other global markets. Auto experts believe that its entry in the Indian auto market may be seen by the second half of 2027. After its launch in India, it will compete directly with established adventure bikes like Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure.
