Questions are once again being raised regarding the alleged illegal mosque built near Mumbai Airport. The matter is related to the order of the Mumbai High Court, in which the court had asked for the removal of the mosque/madrasa like structure built in the taxi parking zone of Terminal-1 of the airport. This order was given during the hearing on petition number 2960/2026 on March 5, 2026.
According to the details given by you, the High Court clearly said in its decision that such a structure cannot be accepted in a sensitive area like Mumbai Airport. The court found it necessary and appropriate to demolish structures like the mosque-madrasa built in the taxi parking zone.
After this order of the High Court, the question now arising is that if it is considered necessary to remove such a structure in the case of Terminal-1 of the airport, then why has no action been taken till now regarding the alleged illegal mosque built near Terminal-2?
It is alleged that a mosque has been built in an area of about 3,000 square feet near Mumbai Airport Terminal-2. It is allegedly being described as illegal construction. Questions are also being raised regarding the role of MIAL, Mumbai Police, BMC and MMRDA in this matter.
Regarding the matter, there is now a demand that action should also be taken against this alleged illegal mosque built near Terminal-2 of Mumbai Airport. The question is that when the High Court has made its stand clear regarding such structure in the airport area, then what further steps do the concerned agencies take in this matter.
At present, there is talk of taking the matter forward demanding the removal of the alleged illegal mosque of about 3,000 square feet built near Terminal-2 of Mumbai Airport.
