Himachal News: As part of the anti-drug campaign being run in Himachal Pradesh, an Anti-Chitta public awareness walkathon was organized in Una on Wednesday. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu led the walkathon and administered anti-Chitta oath to the participants. During this, a large number of students and common people from across the district participated. The walkathon started from Indira Stadium, went to New Bus Stand and ended back at Indira Stadium.
Talk of strict action against chitta sellers
Chief Minister Sukhu said that the state government is continuously taking action against the gambling and drug trade. He said that there is no place in Himachal for people who earn money by ruining the lives of youth. According to the Chief Minister, strict action will be taken under the law against those involved in chitta selling and illegal drug trade.
He said that the drug problem cannot be completely eliminated only by the action of police and government. For this, family, teachers, Panchayat, Mahila Mandal, Youth Club and every section of the society will have to work together.
Emphasis on providing help to youth trapped in drugs
The Chief Minister talked about adopting a sensitive attitude towards the youth who have fallen prey to drugs. He said that a person selling drugs and a person addicted to drugs cannot be seen from the same perspective. The government will work towards providing all possible assistance to such youth in getting them out of drug addiction.
He appealed to the youth to keep an eye on their friends and colleagues and help them in getting rid of drugs if they notice any change in their behaviour. The Chief Minister said that small initiatives taken in time can save a family from breaking up.

The Chief Minister said that the anti-Chitta campaign, which was started about nine months ago, is being carried forward as a mass movement. Earlier, awareness programs were also organized in Shimla, Dharamshala, Hamirpur and Bilaspur.
