Himachal News: The state government has prepared to take a big decision regarding the administrative system in Himachal Pradesh. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has said that in the state The number of sanctioned posts of IAS, IFS and IPS officers will be reduced. The government says that the current number of officers in the state is more than the requirement and many officers are not getting enough work as per their capacity. In such a situation, a plan is being made to arrange the administrative structure as per the need.
23 posts of IAS will be reduced
According to the Chief Minister, the sanctioned number of IAS cadre in Himachal Pradesh reduced from 153 to 130 It is proposed to do. That means 23 posts of IAS will be reduced. Similarly, the number of Indian Forest Service i.e. IFS cadre reduced from 118 to 83 Plan to do. There will be a reduction of 35 posts.
There will also be cuts in IPS cadre. At present IPS officers in the state 96 sanctioned posts Have been told. The government has talked about reducing their number, although the proposed new number has not been clarified yet.
What is the reason behind reducing the number of officers?
Chief Minister Sukhu has cited administrative needs and government expenditure as the main reasons behind reducing the number of officers. He says the state does not need a large number of officers who do not have enough work available. The government wants that the number of people in the administration should be the same as are actually required to implement the schemes and government services.
According to the government, retaining the existing large cadre will cost the state exchequer around Rs. Expenditure of Rs 200 crore Comes. The proposed change is expected to reduce administrative expenses. Some reports have also cited potential savings of up to Rs 2,000 crore by the Chief Minister from comprehensive administrative restructuring, though this figure is said to be related to comprehensive restructuring and not just cadre cuts.
The proposal will be sent to the central government
The state government will submit a proposal to the Center for changes in the cadre of IAS, IFS and IPS All India Services. The change in cadre strength is done under a formal process, hence the process of proposal and approval at the relevant levels will be completed after the announcement by the state government.

Speed up NOC for officers going to Delhi
The Chief Minister also said that the files of officers who want to go on deputation to the Center or to work in Delhi are now being approved rapidly. According to the government, earlier such files used to be delayed, but now the process of relieving NOC and officers is being completed quickly.
The state government says that this will enable better use of available administrative resources. Also, efforts will be made to create a better balance between the need for work and the number of officers in the state.
