Hindu religion is also not registered… Bhagwat rejected the questions raised on RSS.
Knews Desk- Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has reacted sharply to the questions raised by Karnataka government minister Priyank Kharge regarding the registration, funding and financial transparency of the Sangh. He clearly said that he would not respond to Kharge’s open letter and termed it a political gimmick.
Addressing an event in Thrissur, Kerala, Bhagwat said that RSS has nothing to hide and the organization works completely openly. He said that the activities of the Sangh are public, branches are organized in open grounds and volunteers remain active among the society.
On the questions raised regarding registration, Bhagwat said that there are many such institutions and systems in the world which are not registered. Giving an example, he said that Hindu religion is also not registered. According to him, registration is required mainly by those institutions which receive financial assistance from the government, while the RSS is run with the support of volunteers and society.
The Sangh chief said that RSS has a habit of such political attacks. He said that such allegations and questions have been arising since the initial years of the organization’s establishment. He alleged that some people were trying to obstruct the work of the Sangh and create confusion in the minds of the public.
Referring to the history of the Sangh, Bhagwat said governments have banned RSS in the past, but the ban was lifted both times. He said that it is clear that the government has always been aware of the existence and activities of the Sangh. He also claimed that the written constitution of the union had been submitted to the government decades ago and the need for separate registration was never mentioned.
Priyank Kharge had recently, through an open letter, demanded the RSS to release public details of its legal status, income-expenditure, funding sources and assets.
