Now there will be no fear of phone theft, even after the big controversy, this phone will already come with Sanchar Saathi app.

Mobile Theft Track By Sanchar Saathi App: Questions always arise regarding the security and privacy of smartphone users in India. Some time ago, to increase the security of phones, an issue was raised in the Parliament that every phone should already have Sanchar Saathi app, but these things were suppressed because people believed that this would keep an eye on their phones, but now after all this, HMD has taken a big step. It is being informed that the company has launched its new 5G smartphone HMD Vibe 2. Also, for the first time in this phone, users will get the option to install the Sanchar Sathi app of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The special thing about this phone is that this app will not be forced on the user, but while turning on the phone, the user will decide for himself whether he wants to install the app or not.

Special option will be available as soon as the phone is turned on

ETTelecom reported that Ravi Kunwar, Vice President and CEO of HMD India and APAC, said, “We are the first company to offer the option to install the Sanchar Saathi app on the HMD Vibe 2 smartphone as soon as the phone is turned on.” Regarding this, the CEO clarified that users will get an easy menu where they will be able to choose which app to keep and which not. Due to which this feature is completely left to the user’s choice.

Don’t panic if your mobile gets stolen

India is a country where complaints of phone theft are registered every day, in such a situation Sanchar Sathi app will prove to be very useful in many cases for those people who are worried about the danger of theft in crowded places every day. Ravi Kunwar also told that this app helps in finding out whether your smartphone is real or fake. Also, if the mobile gets stolen, it is very useful in tracking it. Apart from this, the user can also check how many SIM cards have been activated in his name.

The dispute had reached Parliament

For your information, let us tell you that last year it was planned to pre-install cyber security app in all the smartphones sold in India. But after opposition from many tech companies and controversy in Parliament, the government did not implement this decision in December 2025. Opposition parties had expressed concern about this app that such apps can lead to surveillance of users and their personal data can also be in danger. Regarding which, later Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had said that if the users wish, they can also delete the app and without registration this app will remain inactive.
