Honda To Bring Back 3 Legendary Cars: Civic, Accord, CR-V Coming Back!
Honda Cars India, over the last few years, has been losing its market share in India. However, in the coming period, it will be launching not one or two but a total of ten new models. Of these ten, three will be the cars that are considered legends in India. Today, we will be giving you all the details of the three upcoming Honda legends.
The Honda Civic, even today, enjoys a cult-like following in India thanks to its sporty design, low stance, and engaging driving dynamics. The company discontinued the 10th-generation Civic back in December 2020. At the time, it was priced between Rs 17.93 lakh and Rs 22.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The last Civic sold in India came with two engine options. First was the 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol motor, which was capable of making 141 PS and 174 Nm and came paired with a CVT gearbox.
Meanwhile, the other option was the 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, which made 120 PS and 300 Nm. It came paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. As for the features, it was offered with an electric sunroof, full LED headlights, Honda LaneWatch camera, 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, 8-way powered driver seat, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Now, it has been stated by Honda that it is currently planning to launch the next-generation Civic Hybrid. It will first be launched internationally, following which it could make its debut in India as well. The new model will be based on Honda’s all-new modular hybrid platform, which is expected to be around 90 kg lighter than the current architecture.
Honda has claimed that this platform has been designed to improve driving pleasure and offer sharper handling along with overall efficiency. At the moment, the company has not revealed any details of the powertrain of this upcoming sedan. Most likely, if launched in India, it will be brought in through the CKD route, and its pricing could start from around Rs 28 lakh and go up to Rs 35 lakh.

As Kia is working on the launch of the internationally sold Sorento in India, it has been reported that Honda could also be launching the new-generation CR-V Hybrid in India. Like the Civic, Honda discontinued the CR-V in India back in 2020. Since then, the brand has not had a proper flagship SUV in its portfolio (it will launch the ZR-V soon, but it will be the halo product).
The last CR-V sold in India was the 5th-generation model, and it was priced in the range of Rs 28.27 lakh and Rs 32.84 lakh. It was available with two engine options. The 2.0-litre petrol engine made 154 PS and 189 Nm and came paired with a CVT gearbox. The diesel version used a 1.6-litre turbo diesel engine, which produced 120 PS and 300 Nm. It was paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and even offered AWD.
Now, it has been reported that the next-generation CR-V Hybrid is expected to make its debut in India by 2027. Once launched, it will sit above the Honda Elevate and will rival premium SUVs like the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, and the upcoming Kia Sorento.
Honda is expected to offer the new CR-V with a new 2.0-litre petrol hybrid powertrain, which will get new electric motors and a high-voltage battery pack. Reports have also suggested that the SUV could get an e-AWD setup as well. In this setup, the rear wheels will be powered by an independent electric motor.
As for the features, it is expected to come loaded with a massive 15-inch touchscreen, ADAS suite, premium interiors, larger cabin, and more advanced connected tech. As for pricing, it is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 45 lakh and Rs 55 lakh.

The last legendary car that will be making its debut in India will be the Honda Accord Hybrid. The Accord was Honda’s flagship luxury sedan and was last sold in India as a fully imported CBU model. Before being discontinued in April 2020, the Accord Hybrid was priced between Rs 43.21 lakh and Rs 44.28 lakh. It featured a 2.0-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine paired with Honda’s advanced Sport Hybrid i-MMD setup.
This system used dual electric motors and a 1.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and offered a combined output of 215 PS. Now, it has been reported that the new-generation Accord Hybrid, which is currently sold globally, comes equipped with Honda’s e:HEV hybrid technology. It features an intelligent multi-mode drive setup.
As for features, it is expected to offer a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Google built-in tech, ADAS, ventilated seats, sunroof, and many others. Honda could launch the new Accord Hybrid in India around 2027 or by 2028, and its expected price will be between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 50 lakh.
