Jharkhand: The incomplete construction work going on on the National Highway and uncontrolled speed created havoc on Monday morning, destroying another happy family. Local resident Jiten Das died tragically in a horrific road accident at Chilagu turn in Chandil sub-division area. Jiten died on the spot after being hit by a speeding heavy vehicle (truck). After this incident, there is mourning in the entire Chilagu village and surrounding areas, while there is deep anger among the local people against NHAI and the administration.

Bridge construction work is going on at Chilagu turn for a long time. Whose snail’s pace is now costing people’s lives. The villagers clearly allege that due to excessive delay in the construction of the bridge, a large part of the National Highway has been converted into a single line. Because of this, there is heavy traffic jam every day and there is a possibility of accidents. Monday morning also fell victim to the same chaos.
A Youngster died in a road accident.
The magnitude of the accident can be gauged from the fact that a CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced. According to the footage, the accused truck driver was driving at very high speed. Just moments before crushing bike rider Jiten Das, the same uncontrolled truck had also hit another goods vehicle parked on the road. After the collision, the driver fled leaving the truck on the spot. Police have seized the vehicle and the search for the accused is ongoing.
Demand for government compensation intensifies
As soon as information about this tragic incident was received, local public representative and social worker Harelal Mahato immediately reached the house of the victim’s family. He met the bereaved family members and expressed his deep condolences. Mahato consoled the victim’s family and assured them of all possible help and also provided immediate financial assistance on the spot. Local public representatives and villagers gathered at the spot have demanded from the administration to provide government assistance and appropriate compensation to the family of the deceased. Also, he has given strict instructions to NHAI to speed up the construction work of this bloody bridge and make the traffic safe.
