Horrific road accident near Nawabganj toll plaza, dumper driver dead, three seriously injured

Unnao. In a tragic road accident near Nawabganj Toll Plaza on the Kanpur-Lucknow National Highway on Saturday morning, the dumper driver died on the spot, while three other people traveling in the dumper were seriously injured. After the accident, there was a long jam on the highway and the traffic system was affected for several hours.

According to the information received, the speeding dumper collided with a truck parked on the roadside. The collision was so severe that the front part of the dumper was completely damaged and the driver was badly trapped in the cabin. The accident is said to have occurred around 5:30 in the morning.

In the accident, dumper driver Jeetu son of Katherwa resident of Bidhnu, Kanpur died on the spot. While the younger sons of the dumper, Sukhdev, Mohammad Shadab and Aamir, resident of Barabanki, were seriously injured. As soon as the information was received, Ajgain police, ambulance and highway team reached the spot.

With the help of local people and relief workers, the injured trapped in the damaged vehicle were taken out. The injured were sent to the Community Health Center Nawabganj for first aid, where seeing their condition was serious, the doctors referred them to the district hospital.

Due to the accident, traffic on the highway was disrupted and long queues of vehicles formed on both sides. The traffic jam continued for about five kilometres, due to which pedestrians and passengers had to face a lot of trouble.

Later, police and highway personnel removed the accident vehicles from the road with the help of cranes, after which the traffic gradually became normal. Police have taken the body of the deceased driver in their custody and sent it for post-mortem and have started investigation into the cause of the accident.

Police officials say that the reason behind the accident is also being investigated for high speed, drowsiness of the driver or any other technical reason. The real causes of the accident will be known only after the investigation is completed.
