The political conflict regarding voter list has intensified in Uttar Pradesh. SP President Akhilesh Yadav raised questions on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's claim that names of 1.27 crore Hindu voters are missing from the voter list and asked from where did the Chief Minister get this data.
Tezzbuzz Desk – Akhilesh Yadav said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should tell on what basis he got the information about deletion of names of 1.27 crore Hindu voters. He questioned the source of this data and said that this information should be made public. Akhilesh Yadav also raised questions on the Election Commission regarding the issue of voter list.
In fact, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had recently claimed in the BJP State Working Committee meeting that the names of 1.27 crore Hindu voters are missing from the voter list of Uttar Pradesh. He had said that there are about 66 lakh people whose names are in the voter list of the Panchayat, but are not in the voter list of the Assembly. Apart from this, names of about 55 lakh beneficiaries of government schemes were also claimed not to be in the voter list of the Assembly.
Yogi Adityanath had asked BJP workers to run a campaign to check the voter list at the booth level and get the names of eligible people added. He had also given instructions to work in coordination with booth level officers and review it regularly.
Now Akhilesh Yadav has raised questions regarding this claim. He asked who gave these figures to the Chief Minister and what is their basis. Allegations and counter-allegations are already going on between BJP and the opposition regarding the Special Intensive Revision of Voter List i.e. SIR. In such a situation, after the latest questions of Akhilesh Yadav, this issue has once again come to the center of UP politics.
