In a revent update which came more than a year after a stabbing case made headlines, actor Nick Pasqual, known for starring in How I Met Your Mother, has been sentenced to 32 years to life in prison.
The shocking verdict was made last month when Nick was found guilty of attempted murder, burglary, forcible r*pe, and domestic violence related offenses.
The charges were linked to an alleged attack on makeup artist Allie Shehorn, who was Nick’s estranged girlfriend at the time.
After his sentencing, Nick, who is appealing the verdict, released a statement to Entertainment Weekly via his representatives.
“I remain deeply saddened by everything surrounding this case, and I continue to wish healing and peace for everyone affected,” he stated. “I am grateful to those who have supported me during this process, and I intend to remain focused on sobriety, recovery, accountability, and a respectful appellate process moving forward.”
“Today’s 32 years to life sentence holds Nick Pasqual accountable for the horrific crimes he committed against someone who once loved and trusted him,” Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman stated.
“He was found guilty of multiple felonies, including attempted murder and rape, spanning from January 2024 to May 23, 2024, when Mr. Pasqual broke into his estranged girlfriend’s home and stabbed her over 20 times.”
District Attorney Nathan J. commended Allie for her courage, saying, “Allie Shehorn miraculously survived and courageously stood before her abuser in court to testify about the brutality she endured.”
“Her trial testimony was crucial in securing a guilty verdict so Mr. Pasqual could no longer be free to hurt anyone else. Today at his sentencing, she gave a powerful victim impact statement,” he added.
Allie had alleged that her relationship with Nick had become abusive leading up to the May 2024 attack at her Sunland home in California.
She reportedly ended up testifying in court about the incident, with visible scars on her arm and neck.
