Samastipur: Neha Jha, arrested in the liquor smuggling case, is currently lodged in the women's cell of Samastipur jail. Neha's video went viral on social media after about 75 liters of foreign liquor was recovered from the AC first class coupe of the train. After this, discussions also started regarding his living conditions and alleged VIP facilities in jail.
Neha is living like other prisoners in the women's cell.
Quoting jail sources, the report said that Neha is not being given any special facility in the jail. She is living like other women prisoners and food is also being provided to her as per the jail manual. He is not allowed to order food from outside.
Morning tea-biscuits, gram and jaggery
According to Bihar jail manual, prisoners are given gram and jaggery along with tea and biscuits in the morning. Lunch and dinner include roti, rice, dal and seasonal vegetables. There is also a canteen facility in the jail premises, where the prisoners can buy available items like samosa, litti, sweets and milk as per prescribed procedure.
Provision of non-veg also in the week
According to the report, there is also a provision for non-veg food in the week in the jail manual. However, the food provided to Neha is no different from that of other prisoners and all facilities are provided as per the prescribed rules of the jail.
The arrest took place from AC first class.
Neha Jha was arrested along with her brother-in-law Ishaan from the AC first class coupe of the New Delhi-Jayanagar Swatantrata Senani Express. The police had claimed to have recovered about 75 liters of foreign liquor from both of them. The investigation of the case is progressing and the SIT is also investigating to investigate the alleged network related to liquor smuggling.
